Children, Young People and Families Partnership
The Basingstoke and Deane Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) Partnership is comprised of representatives from a range of local organisations working together to improve outcomes for children, young people and families throughout the borough.
The Partnership is currently in the process of developing its vision for Children, Young People and Families and once this has been finalised, the CYPF Partnership will review progress against the agreed priorities at its quarterly meetings.
Activities available for schools/colleges
A number of organisations offer activities, workshops, trips and events that schools and colleges in the borough can access to support arts and culture, careers and employability, curriculum enrichment, health and wellbeing and life-skills. Please take a look at the booklet below for more information.
If you would like your organisation included in the next update of this document or are a school/college looking for a particular activity that is not covered here please contact email@example.com. Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council work with and support a variety of providers across the borough and feedback will enable us and our partners to review and improve on the offer made to local schools.
Brighter Futures 2050
The Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership (BASP) and other partners are currently working on a Horizon 2050 initiative for the borough. The aim is to set an ambitious and aspirational shared vision to ensure that residents have high quality homes, jobs and leisure and community facilities for decades to come. This will drive and provide the foundations for far-reaching decisions about the future, setting the direction for the council and other partners’ work.
The borough’s children, young people and their families are at the heart of this future planning. We need to build on and improve the way that we support local families to ensure they are happy, safe and well. We also want them to have great opportunities to learn, make the most of their talents and have positive aspirations for their future.
BASP has worked with various stakeholders, partners and children, young people and their families to develop a 2050 vision that will be delivered through a partnership action plan.
There has been honest and open feedback about some of the challenges that exist, such as, the worries about some children and young people not being supported to do as well at school as they could and not being prepared and inspired enough for the future. In some areas, people are living next door to new and future housing developments and are worried that where they live will become forgotten about.
All of this is important to take into account when we are looking at how we can make sure that everyone has the best chances in life to fulfil their potential.
