Listen Up returns for live music showcase
Live music fans are in for a treat this month, as Listen Up returns to Basingstoke’s Top of the Town for the fourth time.
First launched in September 2024 by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Love Basingstoke, in partnership with local promoters RB Music and Jazz and Beyond Basingstoke, Listen Up is part of work to encourage more live music in the Top of the Town.
The shows start from 2pm on Saturday 28 March, running through the afternoon and evening. The music showcase gives visitors the chance to support local and up-and-coming acts while enjoying everything Top of the Town businesses have to offer.
During the event, five venues – Royal Exchange, Laarsen’s, the Wote Street Club, Tea Bar and the White Hart – will host more than 20 acts between them, covering rock, acoustic, jazz, funk, soul and metal.
Audiences don’t need tickets or to book in advance, as they can simply turn up and enjoy the music for free. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Cabinet Member for Sports, Leisure and Culture Cllr Kerry Morrow said: “Listen Up has become a real celebration of local music talent and a great chance for people to come and support Top of the Town venues.
“I’m looking forward to another great afternoon and evening of live music to enjoy.”
