Festive Friday returns to kick-start Christmas in Basingstoke

News release 10807, published on 23 Oct 2026

Residents and visitors are invited to get into the Christmas spirit as Festive Friday returns to Basingstoke’s Top of the Town on Friday 20 November from 5pm to 8pm, bringing an evening of festive fun, entertainment, shopping and seasonal treats.

The free Love Basingstoke event, funded by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, will transform the area into a festive destination, with a Christmas market featuring small businesses and local stallholders offering unique gifts, handcrafted products and tasty treats ahead of the Christmas season.

Visitors can enjoy a packed programme of entertainment throughout the evening, including appearances from cheeky pantomime characters from Pumpkin Pantos, live performances and music from a local DJ filling the square with festive favourites.

There will also be plenty of activities for all ages, including Christmas crafts and festive games, while businesses at the Top of the Town will be serving a range of food and drink to help visitors make the most of the celebrations.

Cabinet Member for Sports, Leisure and Culture Cllr Kerry Morrow said: “Festive Friday is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to come together and celebrate the start of the festive season. With local businesses, fantastic entertainment, family-friendly activities and great food and drink on offer, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming people into Basingstoke town centre for a fun-filled evening.”

The free event supports local businesses and showcases the vibrant offer available in Basingstoke town centre, while providing an opportunity for people to enjoy festive activities and entertainment with family and friends.
